So, as we all know the Matrice series aircraft’s are DJI’s newest release to the drone world. These industrial platforms open the door to a world of new possibilities. Taking the thought of flying a drone for fun, to realizing that they can be used as a powerful tool to complete a wide variety of industrial tasks. Quadrocopter has started to receive the Matrice 210 RTK and we wanted to get it out in the field, and have it fly some real world applications. We paired the M210RTK with the Zenmuse XT (640×512 30Hz) thermal camera, side by side with the X5S. We wanted to see how it would handle a roof inspection, checking for heat escaping, and here is a sample of the results.

This is a great, real world example or what this setup can do. The flight took our team about 35 minutes to accomplish and it blew the home owner away. The ability to look onto our camera operators screen and see the real time footage was great. The post processing was done with FLIR pro tools, a free download from FLIR. All and all, from flight, to a processed report we spent about 1.5 hours on this project.
